Digitoll
At Color Line Cargo, we are committed to helping you adapt to Digitoll. Whether you need guidance on regulations, assistance with documentation, or general support, we are ready to assist.
What is Digitoll?
Digitoll is a digital system designed to simplify customs clearance for carriers. It enables faster and more accurate handling of customs formalities, offering significant time and cost savings.
The system was originally scheduled for implementation on April 1, 2025, but the Customs Authority has proposed a delay, potentially introducing partial implementation in February 2026. We recommend staying updated on these changes, as implementation dates may evolve.
Key Changes with Digitoll
1. When to Complete Customs Clearance:
Customs clearance must be completed before or upon crossing the border into Norway. The previous flexibility of registering goods and clearing customs up to 10 days after arrival will no longer be allowed.
2. Digital Notification and Disclosure of Information Obligation (MO):
This new requirement places the responsibility for submitting digital notifications and disclosures on carriers.
- Unaccompanied Units (Sea Transport): Color Line Cargo handles customs declarations for unaccompanied units as part of our responsibility under Digitoll regulations for sea transport.
- Accompanied Self-Propelled Vehicles (Road Transport): Carriers are responsible for these vehicles. As your trusted customs agent, we can assist with your digital notifications and disclosures of information obligations, ensuring a smooth process for cross-border transport.
